“I am at the center of peace.”
If this were true for you right now, how would you feel?
What would you be doing?
Who would you be doing it with?
Close your eyes and see yourself at the center of peace.
Be aware of any new ideas or insights that enter your mind.
Observe them, and wish them well as they go about their way.
This small practice of “visualization” plants seeds of peace into your mind.
Visualization is a relaxation technique used to “consciously produce” the body’s natural relaxation response. It is a scientific technique that will typically work every time it’s used, regardless of belief in it’s effectiveness.
The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, NCCAM, describes a few effects of this response as:
“slower breathing, lower blood pressure, and a feeling of calm and well-being.”
- Practice this exercise for the next 3 days.
- Keep handwritten notes about your experience after each relaxation exercise.
- Use your notes to discover any new insights.
