I took a nice long soak in the bath today. NICE. LOOOOOOOONNNG soak in the tub.
I looked forward to using the lemon sugar scrub me and the kids made a few months ago.
But there was a horrible discovery.
Someone’s been using my sugar scrub – the jar was almost empty! My relaxing spa day (aka…bath), got rather tense for a few minutes, as I scraped the bottom of the jar with my fingers, trying to get every last lemony drop.
I got it all, and soaked even longer, as I thought about what I could add to liven up my newest batch.
When I got out of the tub I was all a glow:) Soft, silky and smelling like a cookie!
You know I had to share this goodness with you.
When is the last time you had a nice soak? Ok, it was last Tuesday, but you can NEVER have too many soaks…EVER.
If you haven’t had a “relaxing spa day” (aka…healing bath) this week, let tonight be the night.
I made this fresh batch below with you in mind…and my shoulders, knees and toes.
At Home Spa Treatment
Sugar scrubs are:
- extremely easy to make,
- extremely decadent for you body, mind and spirit,
- and extremely wonderful when you’re relaxing in a nice hot bath after a day of – life!
If you make extra, like I do sometimes, they make great gifts for wellness and someone’s awesome self-care.
Whatever the reason, make some today. There are a million great recipes online…starting with this one!
What You Will Need:
3 cups organic sugar
1 cup olive oil
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1 tsp lemon zest
10 to 15 drops lemon essential oil
1 tsp Vitamin E Oil
1 tsp lemon extract
Mix together sugar, lemon juice, zest, and Vitamin E oil. Stir to gently blend the ingredients together.
Add the olive oil slowly. If you like your sugar scrubs to be drier, add less oil. I like mine to be slightly more oil than I think I need, so that it doesn’t dry out as I use it. If this happens to your scrub, you may always add more oil, and a tbsp of honey for extra moisturizing power.
Add the lemon essential oil and lemon extract.
