Today’s recipe was a special request from Sharon P. in Brooklyn, NY. She LOVES our Coconut Shea Butter Recipe and wanted to know if I had something similar, specifically for the cooler months.

This recipe is made with all-natural, organic butters and oils you can find in most grocery food stores. I’m using the coconut oil I buy from Trader Joe’s, and the rest are from here, here, and right here:)
“Velvet” is a rich, healing body butter that’s perfect for Fall & Winter. It works like a thick body butter by absorbing well into the skin without being greasy.
*You will need:
- cocoa butter
- shea butter
- coconut oil
- avocado oil
Cocoa Butter – softens and lubricates the skin
Shea Butter – anti-inflammatory, it protects the skin from dehydration
Coconut Oil – heals, smoothes, and protects hair and skin
Avocado Oil – a natural sunscreen, it penetrates and moisturizes the skin
If you don’t have avocado oil, olive oil is a wonderful substitution.

- 2 tablespoons cocoa butter
- 2 tablespoons shea butter
- 1/4 cup coconut oil
- 1 tablespoon avocado oil
- Gently melt ingredients on warm or low setting on top of the stove (or in your crockpot).
- Warm for 5 minutes or until all ingredients have melted.
- Pour into jar or heat safe container to cool.
- Allow to cool for up to 4 hours, or place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Continue to cool.
I like to speed the process so I put the butter in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.

This butter may also be used from head to toe. Your ends will love a little before bed:)
