Hair Teas

A Go-To for Natural Conditioning and More

When it comes to hair care, hair teas have become my ultimate favorite. Not only are they excellent for conditioning, but they also work wonders as hair mists, spritzes, leave-ins, and tonics. Here’s my go-to recipe for a hair tea that’s so effective, it has completely replaced my beloved deep conditioners like Aubrey Organics Blue Chamomile, Island Naturals, and Honeysuckle Rose.

I source my ingredients from Mountain Rose Herbs, but you can find catnip, comfrey leaf, and hibiscus flowers at many health food stores or online retailers. They are not only affordable but also easy to find, making this hair tea a convenient addition to your hair care regimen.

Give this hair tea a try, and you might just find yourself saying goodbye to commercial conditioners for good!

CATNIP HAIR TEA
Moisturize, deeply condition, add shine and softness with this luscious hair tea!
INGREDIENTS
  1. 4 cups hot water
  2. 2 tablespoons dried catnip leaves
  3. 1 tablespoon dried comfrey leaf
  4. a small handful hibiscus flowers (fresh or dried)
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Add ingredients to water and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Strain leaves from tea.
  3. Use as a conditioning hair rinse. Allow it to sit on your hair for at least 10 minutes. Rinse and style. Test this recipe to see what your hair enjoys more. I like to leave the rinse in my hair and use it as a conditioning mist during the week. You may decide 10 minutes is all you need!
NOTES
  1. The heat from the water allow the essential oils to release from the catnip leaves. After 5 minutes you’ll be able to see this a little of this oil in the water. Add your favorite essential oils to give this tea a lavish boost. Ylang Ylang and the citrus oils go well (lime, bergamot, lemon, tangerine, mandarin, grapefruit).
